During the building process, Frank Lott, III, president of Heritage Homes, learned of one of the Gaudet Family's neighbors who was also in need. An elderly, handicapped neighbor had recently hired a repairman to restore their home from damages made by Hurricane Katrina. The repairman cashed the check and left town. When Frank found out, he said that Heritage Homes definitely would help. Neighbors gathered volunteers, and Heritage Homes, along with Pathway Ministries, a local church, rebuilt the handicap ramp, which was falling apart. Sherwin Williams also donated the paint and the manpower to give the neighbor a fresh paint job. |
